Jessica’s “Hit-It” List: People – Chris Cason

con-pic

I don’t think I’ve ever seen him without a hat!

The illustrious Chris Cason, has agreed to shame himself by allowing me to admit that I would TOTALLY HIT HIM. Errr… hit “IT” … hit Chris Cason.

Nevermind. He’s hot and talented and that’s all I meant.

Chris and I met at the now gone Ani-Jam (sad-teardrop-face) in 2014. We stayed up till about 4am (MIND OUT OF THE GUTTER, FOOLS) laughing, and it left a lasting impression that this little muffin and I would be friends for a long time (even though he probably regrets it but I’m like a virus that infects you so I never go away). It’s no secret that Chris is talented AF with so many credits to his name his wiki can’t keep up. Me, I just like the dulcet tones of his buttery voice and every time he talks I’m like goo (IN MY PANTS, but also figuratively).

Read on to find out why you should be a part of Cason’s voice acting and directing world. I LOVE HIM AND THEREFORE YOU SHOULD TOO, ELSE WHY ARE YOU HERE

Chris Cason has been involved in the production of anime and video games since 1998. He has voiced over one hundred characters and appeared in seventeen broadcast shows (from the CW and Nicktoons to Spike TV and The Cartoon Network). While serving as ADR Director for five production studios over nine years, he has also been involved in casting and script adapting.

Special Nickname: The Vault

You’re about to drop the hottest album of all time. Title? Chris Cason’s Polka Explosion: Live at Red Rocks

What number am I thinking of right now? You, Jessica? 69, of course 😉

(Jessica note: NOSEBLEED)

Favorite (or loved) Project (past or present): Sounds like a cliché, but I’ve enjoyed most (if not all) of the projects I’ve ever worked on. Often, I’ll really get pumped up about what I’m doing at the moment. It helps to keep me focused!

What makes you “twitch” (take that as you will): I “twitch” when I see people being treated unfairly, or when others do things to divide rather than unify.

Something that is considered “odd” about you that also might be cool, weird or disturbing, maybe something that the majority of people don’t know, but also won’t get you arrested if we publicly display it on my site: I can ALWAYS keep a secret (hence my nickname, The Vault). I play four instruments–two fairly well, two not so well. (<Jessica note>: I got clarification on this! Cason plays guitar and electric bass well and piano and drums “not so well.” But I’m like NOT SO WELL? WHO CARES – THAT’S A 4 PIECE BAND WILL YOU PLEASE PLAY AT MY 7TH GRADE DANCE /Jessica note) LOVE a good horror movie. LOVE roller coasters and dark rides. My idea of a good time is going to a carnival that was quickly put together in some mall parking lot and taking a ride through the “Spook House”.

<Jessica Interruption> Hay hay Chris, is it true that while One Punch Man and Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, were showing on the Toonami block of Adult Swim, you had your own hashtag(s)?

Chris Response: Yeah! Someone on Twitter referred to those shows as the “Cason Power Hour” and used that title as a hashtag. Other people started doing it, too, and I began seeing it in a lot of tweets. I felt pretty flattered!

Jessica Response: HAY IT WAS ME. I STARTED IT. (ok… maybe I didn’t start it but I was one of the very first tweeters to use #CasonPowerHour and #TheCasonPowerHour because how amazing is it that Chris had an entire hour of two very popular and awesome shows!!? Seriously… I can’t say enough about how incredible I think he is. Wonderful voice, stellar director AND he likes noodles.)

</Jessica Interruption>

Current projects, passions, obsessions? It was a thrill to have two shows I directed airing back-to-back on Toonami, recently (“One Punch Man” and “Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans”). These days, I’m in the middle of directing “Mob Psycho 100” and “The Asterisk War.” Also, it was just announced that I’ll be returning as Agent Shu for the English dub of “Dragon Ball Super.” The rest is top secret…for now!

Jessica note: OMG WE CANNOT WAIT!!!

Thank you for being here, Chris!! <3 We luff you!! ~_~

…personally, I’m looking forward to #CasonPower200Hours

It’s going to happen.

(special thanks to Chris for putting up with me while it took me 4 months to post this)
